It was a know fact that the Co-Creators of TMNT, Kevin Eastman and Peter Larid were fans of The Kings work. Not to mention one of the One Shot issues of the Mirage TMNT comic, Donatello #1 had a story called "Kirby and the Warp Crystal" was dedicated to his work.
